Match Report: A Team
28 September 2019
The A Team came in to match day 3 looking to improve on last weeks disappointing display against Ilminster. Sticking with the same 4-3-1-2 formation the match started very evenly with both teams trying to keep the ball. The first real opportunity fell to the our number 9 after a knockdown in the area following a corner but the shot had too much on it and flew over the bar.
Farway hadn't threatened at the other end albeit having some decent possession toward the end of the second half, keeper Clarke confidently dealing with any long balls over the top of the defense. Approaching half time and the big chance came and went for the A Team to take a deserved lead. A cute pass played through to Street allowed him in to the air but a slip at the last second and the chance was gone. Half Time 0-0.
No changes at half time and the game continued in the same manor as the second half had ended, with the A Team looking threatening and creating some decent opportunities and Farway remaining dangerous in the final 3rd. What was clear as the second half ticked over 75 minutes was that this game was going to be settled by a single goal. 0-1 to the away side. From a Farway corner the A Team weren't able to clear their lines properly for the first time and one lucky bounce later and the ball is lashed in to the back of the net.
Another striker was introduced for the A Team but no clear cut chances presented themselves and the game finished 0-1. An all to familiar feel of a game which could have and probably should have gone the other way but great confidence is taken when compared to last seasons results. UTR
